Toyota T100 Engine

Please complete the following fields to receive bids from vendors with a Toyota T100 Engine for sale!

The Toyota T100 first production ran from 1993-1998. The engines used by Toyota for the new truck were a 2.7 liter 3RZ DOHC 4 cylinder and a 3.0 liter 3VZ V6 SOHC. The 3RZ was a new motor introduced by Toyota for the T100. It had 150 hp was fuel efficient but low on power and torque. The 3.0 liter engine offered the same horsepower by had better torque and could tow a larger load than the 4 cylinder version. This truck would compete with the Ford Ranger, Chevy S-10, Dodge Dakota and the Mazda B-3000 vehicles. The T100 was available in a 2 wheel drive or a 4 wheel drive. Also, Toyota offered a 5 speed d standard transmission and an automatic transmission for both the 2.7 and the 3.0 liter option.

In 1995 Toyota soon realized more improvements were needed to get on top of the market.  The T100 was introduced with an Xtracab model that offered more room including storage inside the cab. Also, the 3.0 liter engine was dropped in late 1995 and Toyota added the 3.4 liter 5VZ DOHC motor to the lineup. This engine had 190 hp which is 40 hp more than the 3.0 liter option. This made a nice improvement in performance which truck buyers expect. The fuel economy was good because of the fuel injection system and the ease of upper drivetrain operation with the DOHC design. Toyota also made tis the last year you could purchase a T100 regular cab with the 4 wheel drive option. Most truck manufactures have followed suit in this respect. I prefer a short wheel base regular cad with the 4 wheel drive look but I guess they don’t agree.

After 1998 the Toyota T100 was no longer being produced. Toyota came out with the Toyota Tundra which hit the dealerships in 2000. This was a larger truck with more drivetrain options that soon would out sell the earlier T100.
