Audi S5 Engine

Please complete the following fields to receive bids from vendors with a Audi S5 Engine for sale!

The Audi S5 is the German car manufacturer’s performance variant of the A5 coupe, Sportback and cabriolet. Both the S5 and A5 are heavily based on the A4 and S4 sedans. Unlike the ordinary A5, the S5 is aimed at buyers who want a more performance-oriented driving and ownership experience from their Audi. It was also one of several vehicles throughout parent company Volkswagen Group to use engines employing Fuel Stratified Injection, a technology that swaps conventional multi-point injectors for a pressurized common rail design.

The S5 was initially introduced with two engine choices. The first, a 4.2-liter eight-cylinder engine featuring Fuel Stratified Injection and a power output of 349 horsepower, was made available on the S5 coupe. The second, a supercharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with a power output of 329 horsepower, was offered on the cabriolet and Sportback variants. The 3.0-liter engine, internally known under engine codes CAKA and CCBA, was also used in the 2010 Audi S4 sedan and Avant wagon.

In 2012, the S5 received a model refresh that changed a number of visual and mechanical features on the vehicle. One of those changes involved the elimination of the 4.2-liter V8 option in favor of using the supercharged 3.0-liter TFSI unit across the board. This change, along with the addition of stop-start technology, highlighted Audi’s efforts to make its vehicles more fuel efficient. Despite the difference in cylinders, both the supercharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine and the 4.2-liter eight-cylinder engine performed similarly to one another.

Used engines for the Audi S5 are not too difficult to find – auto dismantlers and engine brokers are more than likely to have these engines in their inventory than most lower-end junkyards and salvage facilities. However, S5 engines are still not as abundant as engines from mainstream makes and models.
