Chrysler produced the Chrysler 300M as the sport sedan from the year 1999 to 2004. The 300 cars produced from 1955 to 1979 were based on the V8 engine. Soon after their hibernation for 20 long years, this front wheel drive car was revived with V6 engine which can provide 255 hp was based on Chrysler LH platform. This all new 4 door sedan was a beast in 300 listed cars which provided solid sales in the UK. The length of the car was not suitable for European countries as that market leans towards a smaller vehicle. So a newer version of the car was made. This was named as 300L and its length was reduced by 10 inches compared to the Chrysler Concorde so that it is easy to export for European market. Chrysler was able to increase the price for the European market versus the US market.
Chrysler made the 3.5 Liter V6 engine which was initially used for LH vehicles of first generation and then it was reformed for new entries in LH line. This engine was shared along with Plymouth Prowler and Dodge Intrepid of second generation which ruled the market in those days.
