The Chrysler Town and Country is a minivan from the stables of Chrysler and the first generation was introduced in late 1989 as the true American family car. You will find used Chrysler engines easy to locate. The Chrysler Town and Country was available in various versions of the long wheel base and the first generation was powered by a 3.0 liter Mitsubishi 6G72 V6 engine, displacing 142 HP and 173 lb torque. The Town and Country shared its motor with the Dodge Caravan and the Plymouth Voyager and the cars also shared Chrysler’s S platform.

The second generation Town and Country is powered by an EGA V6 producing 150 HP and 180 ft lb torque and the EGH V6 producing 162 HP and 213 ft lb torque. The second generation Town and Country was built on the Chrysler AS platform and this was also used in Chrysler Voyager. However, the external features of the cars are completely different. The AS platform was designed keeping in mind Chrysler’s predeceasing K platform which used a 3.3 liter EGA V6 as standard. Used 3.3 liter EGA V6 engines can be found at most workshops which deal in used cars.

The third generation Chrysler Town and Country was based on Chrysler’s NS platform and featured new exterior features like sliding doors, for the first time. This car has three variants and was powered by an EGA V6 producing 158 HP and 203 lb torque. The second version was powered by an EGH V6 producing 166 HP and 227 lb torque and the advanced model was powered by an EGH V6 producing 180 HP and 240 lb torque. The engines are also used on the 1999 Chrysler Voyager and the 2000 Dodge Caravan.
