The Daewoo Leganza is a sedan built by the Korean car maker Daewoo and the car was in production from 1997 to 2002. The car was also known as the V100 and the first generation Leganza was powered by engines manufactured by Holden. The Leganza is a front wheel drive four door vehicle and was powered by the E – TEC II DOHC 16 V l4 engine. The motor had two versions which differed in stroke and bore and they were a 2.0 liter engine used in all the models for the European models. The engine displaced 1,998 cc and produced 133 HP and 184 Nm of torque. The engine used on the cars meant for the American and Australian markets was a 2.2 liter 2,198 cc displacing engine which produced 100 KW and 191 Nm of torque. These vehicles were available in a five speed manual and a four speed automatic transmission.
The second generation Leganza featured a 2,198 cc 2.2 liter engine which displaced 98 KW @ 5,200 RPM and 148 ft lb torque. The engine has four in line cylinders and a light weight double overhead cam. Used Leganza engines for sale are available at all leading car workshops as well as over the internet and mechanics could easily look for used Daewoo engines at cheap rates.
The Daewoo Leganza is built on the GM FF platform and it features a four speed manual and automatic transmission for all models. The engine and drive train features on the Leganza are same as that used in the Daewoo Magnus and the Espero and hence these features can be refitted to each other. The Toyota Aristo also features similar drive train features and hence this saves GM a lot of additional costs on research and development on newer platforms.
The last upgrade to the Daewoo Leganza was made in the year 2001. The car featured a 2.2 liter l4 mid size engine and was connected to a four speed automatic transmission. The car features additional drive rain features like a front wheel drive system and is similar to the Daewoo Tosca in terms of motor and internal specifications.
