Nissan Titan Engines For Sale

The Nissan Titan truck is unique in the fact that from 2003 through 2015 it is considered the first generation truck. All models of the Titan only offer one engine, the 32-valve 5.6 liter V8 engine. The designation for the engine is VK56DE, this motor generates over 300 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque. This falls in line with the Chevy Silverado and the Ford F-150.

Even though the Titan kept the first generation for such a long time, they tried to give the buyer plenty of different options and configurations to meet the needs of a multi-purpose vehicle. In the beginning the length of the Titan was 224.0 inches, this stayed consistent until 2008, at that point Nissan made the truck a whole 1.5 inches longer. Talk about a game changer! Also, in 2008 Nissan added almost a full inch to the width of the truck. Different models available were the King Cab 4-wheel drive, Crew Cab 4-wheel drive, King Cab 2-wheel drive, Pro-4X King Cab and of course offered short wheel base and long wheel base for these models.

Even though the 5.6-liter engine was the only engine used, it went through different stages of development including different cylinder heads, cam shafts, intake manifolds and more. Nissan did this for more than one reason, first is progress, things always need to be made stronger, better and faster. The other is government emission standards. Emission standards are a priority unless you want to end up like Volkswagen, lie about the emission numbers and get sued, no so much!

Another interesting point about the Nissan Titan is the transmission, Nissan only produced an automatic type transmission, never a manual shift. The auto transmission did come in different models, Nissan offered a 2-wheel drive and a 4-wheel drive, however you could request a floor shift type or column shift configuration. Also, if you added the towing package to the vehicle that would yet cause a different model transmission as well.
