The midsize entry level luxury sedan of Lincoln Zephyr was later given the name of MKZ. It was manufactured by the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company. Acura TSX, Nissan Maxima and Lexus IS 350 were three of its competitors. The MK series further continued as MKX, MKS and MKT.
The concept car of Zephyr was unveiled in the New York Motor Show in the year 2004 and most of its features went on to the production model. It was intended for the younger luxury car buyers. It had low profile 17 inch wheels, LED tail lights and jeweled quad projector beam headlights.
Lincoln Zephyr was offered with three engine options. There was the 2.5 liter Duratec engine with 4 cylinders inline and the V 6 Duratec engines that offered either 3.0 liter or 3.5 liter capacity. Used Zephyr engines of this type are available at asapmotors.com.
Since the Zephyr was the successor to the rear wheel driven midsize luxury car of Lincoln LS, it was sold alongside the LS in 2006 when the LS was discontinued. The Zephyr was a bit smaller than its predecessor.
The prototype of the second generation Lincoln Zephyr was unveiled in the North American International Auto Show in 2012. The production version was shown in the New York Auto Show in the same year. This car is available with three engine options. One is the four cylinder 2.0 liter EcoBoost engine and a 3.7 liter Duratec V 6 motor is another. There is also the 2.0 liter 4 cylinder hybrid engine.
